What's New?
Library Homepage Undergoing Renovation
We are currently working on revising and updating our homepage to
better serve our users. If you have any suggestions or comments,
feel free to email us.
We are pleased to announce that we have a valencia student,
Brian Bellisimo, on board coordinating the web design of our homepage
and our new brochure. He is in the Graphic Design program and also
works as a computer technician at the Winter Park Campus.
Library Catalog's (LINCC) New Look & Feel!
Aleph v. 17 software was activated in all LINCC libraries on July
31st, 2006. Following are some of the changes you will encounter
when you use our Library
Catalog (LINCC):
Your search results will now have a cleaner look and feel, including:
- My Account Loans List - A "Renew Selected"
checkbox has been added to each loan number in the Loans list.
The checkbox next to each item can be selected to mark items for
renewal. Clicking the "Renew Selected" link will renew the selected
loans. Up to 260 loans can be selected from the list.
- New font style.
- Content notes and abstracts, displayed in column format, in
the Full Record.
- Inclusion of "Exact Phrase".
- Change in location of book cover images.
- Removal of headings for title, author, and publisher in the
Brief View.
- Bolded, clickable title.
- Additional changes may be incorporated as time and software
functionality allow. CCLA will communicate these changes to LINCC
libraries as they occur.
- Find Text? (SFX) links are included
for journal titles. Users can go from a journal title in the OPAC
to the Find Text menu to find databases that provide full text
for that journal.
- Sticky Search remembers the last search in
the Find and Browse screens. It is possible to change the search
base from a drop-down list together with the Find and Browse commands.
- Searching in the Catalog: The long headings
functionality has been enhanced. The browse field has been extended
to 2,000 characters, enabling the user to enter the exact string
to be retrieved.
For more information, please visit the CCLA
(College Center for Library Automation) website or ask a librarian.
