Wireless Campus
Wireless Networking at Valencia
Wireless networking is a relatively new area in computer
network technology that offers unique opportunities in education,
research, and administration. Wireless networks give users
mobility and flexibility by enabling them to access network
services without being tied to a physical location. Many
devices and applications are being developed to take advantage
of these new capabilities. To offer the potential benefits
of this service to the Valencia community we are in the process
of deploying a campus wide wireless network.
This site offers information about wireless networking
and details about the Valencia Wireless project. If you are
a student, faculty, or staff member and would like information
on how to access this network go to How
to Connect page.
Note: Valencia's
wireless mobile access service uses the 802.11b and
802.11g (Wi-Fi)
wireless networking standards and supports connections
from network cards conforming to these standards.
Note: Peer to Peer
(P2P) Applications
Are Not Allowed Over the Wireless Network |
