Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be used to select students for the Associate in Science Degree Radiography Program.  Admission to this program is limited to applicants selected by the admission process.  Twenty-two students will be admitted into the Radiography Program each year. 

Florida residents and U.S. citizens have priority over non-residents. 

All applicants must:

A.	Complete the prerequisite course with a grade of “C” or better.
B.	View the career video and review the Student Handbook.
C.	Submit documentation to support any professional certification and/or professional license (see attached information).
D.	Submit the names of three (3) references

The Collegewide Health Science Programs Admission Committee uses the following point system to GUIDE them in the selection of qualified students to be admitted to the Radiography Program.  Points accumulated from the selection criteria are used to assist the admission committee members in making their selection.  The selection of students is not based solely on the number of points earned. No guarantee or probability on admission can be made to any student, regardless of the points accumulated.

I. Grade Point Average (GPA) College -last completed

II. Valencia Community College GPA - only coursework at VCC

III. Science and General Education Component Completion

IV. Work Experience or Tech Prep

Points may be earned for ONLY ONE of the following areas. Documentation will be required to verify.

V.      Other

 

HSC 1004	Professions of Caring	3 pts
Alternate	Previous Year Applicant placed on alternate list	3 pts

VI.     References: The names of three references are required.

Total Possible Points = 69
