Admission Checklist

Admission to the Polysomnography Technology Program is limited to applicants selected by the admission process.  Final selection may require a personal interview.  Applicants must be a United States Citizen or permanent resident to be eligible.

Application Checklist:

_____  1.         Submit a completed college application for admission by the College Application Deadline.  Visit Valencia’s Web site at www.valenciacc.edu/admissions for specific information

_____  2.         Applicants to the Polysomnography Technology Program must have an overall college GPA of 2.5.

_____  3.         Prior to submitting the Polysomnography Technology Program Application, applicants must meet the college admission requirements for degree seeking students.  College entry level assessment, computerized placement tests, and all mandatory courses in Reading, Student Success, Mathematics, English, and English for Academic Purposes must be completed prior to submitting the Polysomnography Technology Program Application.

_____  4.         Be currently enrolled in the final term of a Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences Program.  OR Have completed a minimum of an Associate of Science Degree in a Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences Program. Applicants must have graduated from the Program within the last year or have one year of practice in Respiratory Care within the last five years prior to admission. 

_____  5.         If currently enrolled in a Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences program, applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a full-time Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences Program faculty member.                     

_____  6.         If a graduate of a Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences Program, verify the possession of a current Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Florida.

_____  7.         Submit proof of current CPR certification- AHA Healthcare Provider.

_____ 8.       Submit a completed application and required documents to the Health Sciences Advising Office, Building 2 room 208.  A $15 non-refundable Polysomnography Technology Program fee (check or money order payable to Valencia Community College) must be submitted to the Business Office with each application.  A new application is required if reapplying for admission.

_____  9.     Submit a Polysomnography Technology Program application. Applications are accepted continuously throughout the year.
