Selection Criteria

The College-wide Health Science Programs Admission Committee uses the following point system to GUIDE them in the selection of qualified students to be admitted to the Dental Hygiene Program. (maximum of 39 possible points)

Elective

Any Humanities or Fine Arts

Bonus

Completion of all Science and General Education  courses with a 2.5 GPA or higher by application deadline

III. Dental Assisting/Education/Work Experience

Graduate of an ADA Accredited Dental Assisting Program

2 pts (Current certification documentation required)

Certified Dental Assistant OR on the job trained Dental Assistant (min 30 hrs/wk for 12 consecutive months)

1 pt (min. 1 yr exp. with letter from employer)

1 point (Documentation of HS transcripts required)
