I graduated from Valencia Community College in 1979. After graduation, I practiced Dental Hygiene for 29 years. I started my second career in education at Central Florida Community College, Ocala, Florida as an instructor in a dental assisting program from 1995- 2003 until I joined Valencia as a professor of Dental Hygiene in 2004.
Shortly after graduation at Valencia Community College I married my husband of 28 years. We have raised 3 children, and are the proud parents of 2 dogs, 3 cats and numerous fish. I enjoy my free time at the beach, reading great books, and sewing.

My son, Jonathan, teaches elementary education in Chicago and my daughter, Sandi, teaches yoga in Austin, Texas. I am working on my doctorate degree in Education. I love traveling, scuba diving, and antiquing.
Donna Gibson,
Staff Assistant III
I am the Administrative Assistant for the Dental Hygiene Department under the Division of Health Sciences. I work with faculty, students and patients that come to our clinic to have their teeth cleaned. It is an extremely busy office and there is never a dull moment. I love my job!
I graduated from Valencia Community College in April 1975 with an Associate in Science degree in Office Systems Technology and I accepted my first position with Valencia in August 1975 working in the Student Development Office. I have worked in several areas throughout my tenure at Valencia, some of which include Student Development, Counseling, Cooperative Education, the Provost Office and the Internship and Placement Office. I am what some refer to as a Valencia 'lifer'. I took time off to raise five children until they all started kindergarten and then returned to Valencia. I can't imagine life without Valencia!
On a personal note, I have been married for 25 years and have five children and six grandchildren and am ready, willing and able to produce pictures to brag about upon demand! I love to play in my flower garden, cooking and traveling.
