Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do I need to be a student at Valencia to apply to the CT Program?

A: Yes. You must apply to the college before you submit an CT application. You can apply online at www.valenciacc.edu/admissions or contact Enrollment services at enrollment@valenciacc.edu to begin the application process with Valencia.

Q: What courses do I need to take prior to applying to the CT program?

A: None, however applicants must submit documentation of current certification in one of the following: 

  • Radiography(ARRT)
  • Radiation Therapy (ARRT)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT) or (NMTCB)
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARRT or ARDMS)
or be registry eligible in one of the above modalities. Students must complete certification in one of the above modalities by CT program completion.

Q: Are the courses offered online?

A: Yes. The CT program is online with the exception of the clinical component.

Q: Will my courses from other colleges transfer to Valencia?

A: Once you have applied to Valencia, you will need to request official transcripts sent from your previous institution. The admissions office will evaluate all transcripts once they are received to determine transfer credit.

Q: Do I need to take the Nursing Entrance Test (NET) before I apply?

A: No, CT applicants do not need to take the NET.

Q: What is the deadline to apply to the CT Program?

A: The deadline to apply is July 1st of each year for the Fall term and November 1st for the Spring Term.

Q: How many students are accepted into the CT program and how often?

A: The CT program accepts 15 students in the Fall term, and 15 for the Spring Term. The CT program begins twice each year in August and January.

Q: Where do I send my application when I'm ready to apply?

A: You can mail in your completed application with the $15 application fee to the Business Office:

Q: What is the schedule like if I am accepted into the CT program.

A: There are 2 ways to meet the objectives for the clinical courses. We can place students at clinical sites we currently have affiliation agreements with or if a student is working in CT or MRI they can complete the ARRT requirements on the job and submit them for credit.

Q. Where do you offer clinicals?

A. Clinical assignment will be at facilities that Valencia Community College has affiliation agreements with for risk management purposes, i.e., Orlando Regional Healthcare, Kissimmee Outpatient Center, Osceola Regional Medical Center.
