Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 7:00pm
Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Academic Advising
    Advising/Counseling staff provide developmental advising which includes career and educational planning, interpretation of placement assessments, strategies to address academic difficulties, semester-by- semester schedule planning, preparation for university transfer, and workforce preparedness. The Advising/Counseling staff will assist you in achieving your career and education goals in a productive and efficient manner.

Students can obtain information on: degrees offered at Valencia; transfer information for the ten state universities, advisement on academic policies, information on improving academic skills, and information on the process of transferring to a four year college or university.

  • Transfer Assistance

    Advising/Counseling staff maintain transfer manuals for the ten state universities. These manuals include information on entrance requirements, prerequisite requirements and course listings for each major taught at the university level. Applications for state universities are also available in the Advising and Counseling center.
       
  • New Student Orientation

    All new students to the college are required to participate in a New Student Orientation session before registering for their first semester. New Student Orientation includes a campus tour, information on educational planning and college resources, and group advising after which students can register for classes by telephone or in person with an appointment card. Following application to Valencia, new students should contact the Advising and Counseling Office to make an appointment for New Student Orientation.
      
  • Personal Counseling

    The West Campus Advising and Counseling center offers limited personal counseling and referral services.   Contact any counselor/advisor for additional referral information.
      
  • Skillshop Educational Series

    Faced with mounting stress, competition, and social and academic pressures, today's student must be very well prepared in a wide variety of areas. To enhance our students educational experiences, West Campus Advising and Counseling Center offers a series of workshops each semester to address some of these issues.
      
  • General Information

    The Advising and Counseling Center provides general information and referrals for most academic questions. In some cases, we may need to refer you to a specific person or department for questions we are unable to answer.
     
  • International Advising

    Students attending Valencia on any visa must meet with an educational advisor to international students after completing the admissions process. After a student is accepted to Valencia, the advisor offers assistance in creating a schedule, making appropriate referrals and addressing immigrations related topics.
