The goal of Upward Bound Program Winter Park campus is to increase the academic skills, motivation, graduation rates, and postsecondary enrollment rates of Jones high school students through comprehensive academic and summer academic components. We accomplish these goals by providing the following activities and services:
Academic and personal support to 50 Upward Bound students at Jones high school.

• Weekly tutorial services during the academic year. Tutorial services are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school.
   

• Saturday academic enrichment and tutorial component. Two Saturdays an month on the Winter Park Campus of Valencia Community College. The Saturday sessions are two-fold; it allows students to "catch-up" with their required academic skills as well as prepare for more advanced courses.
   

• Provide test preparation services enabling 9th and 10th graders to achieve a passing score on the FCAT and 11th and 12th graders to achieve a passing score on the SAT/ACT.
   

• Career exploration workshops, scholarship searches and financial aid assistance.
   

• Tours to college and universities trips to cultural enrichment activities (museums, plays, festivals, etc.).
   

• Exposing to workshops such as: critical thinking skills, and high school survival skills and time management.
