Student Leadership Programs

Valencia Community College offers student leadership training and experience. Our graduates have demonstrated their abilities by occupying influential positions in almost every profession. They have also played key roles in the development of Central Florida by participating in a variety of programs that enhance our communities. These Leadership Programs include: Skillshops, Leadership Symposium, and the Leadership Speaker Series and on the East Campus: The Next Dimension Leadership Program.

Skillshops

Also, Valencia Skillshops are an easy way for you to master a bunch of life skills that today’s student must have. These short, fun sessions give you strategies that can help you deal with stress, get financial aid, study smarter, use LifeMap and much more.

Best of all, they’re free, fun and offered at different times, so they fit into your schedule.

Leadership Symposium

The Leadership Symposium is an annual college-wide Spring term event. The purpose of this event is to educate our students on the importance on networking, professionalism and communication skills. The event is a 3 part program that consists of a networking reception, a leadership speaker and an etiquette dinner.

Leadership Speaker Series

The Leadership Speaker Series occurs every year and showcases various local and national speakers. This series was developed as a result of student feedback. Some of the topics relate to diversity, motivation and leadership development.

The Next Dimension Leadership Program - East Campus

The Next Dimension Leadership Program was designed to offer students the opportunity to receive practical teachings for their personal growth and academic success. This is achieved through high energy lectures by some of the country’s most highly requested motivational speakers and life coaches. Participants come prepared to receive knowledge on human diversity, leadership, finances, teambuilding, and life skills.
