The general education curriculum at Pasco Hernando Community College will:

1.  enheance the ability of students to communicate ideas and meaning in writing with competency in form and substance;

2.  develop in students the skills necessary to prepare research papers;

3.  strengthen speaking and listening skills in students;

4.  ensure that all students are provided with a broad spectrum of mathematical skills;

5.  develop in students mathematical competency, accuracy, and understanding consistent with university requirements/recommendations;

6.  nurture in students an understanding of the structure, function, and basic components of the biological and physcial worlds;

7.  foster in students an understanding of individual and/or group behavior;

8.  develop in students an appreciation of the arts and humanities, including the critical awareness of cultures and cultural diversity;

9.  develop in students knowledge and understanding of the structure and function of government;

10.  prepare students for successful academic performance upon transfer to upper division institutions in the State University System;

11.  develop computer literacy skills in students; and

12.  Provide students with a varied educational experience.
