Prospective Students

The CPT is a placement test to assess English, Reading and Math skills. The CPT score will be used for placement in the correct math class.

CPT
(College Placement Test)

  1. Study/Review for the CPT; Study guides available in the Book Store, Building C, or in these files CPT- A and CPT-I

  2. See the Tutors in the Learning Center to study/review (Building 3, room 3-100)

  3. Take the CPT in the Assessment Center (Building 1, Room 1-127) Please allow 2 hours to complete the CPT.

  4. If you have any specific questions about your CPT scores, schedule an appointment with an Advisor (Answer Center, Building 1, Room 150) or the Math Coordinator, Elizabeth Washington.

  5. Please be advised that you do get a second attempt at taking the CPT. In order to qualify you must take your study guide to the Learning Center (Building 3, room 100) and have a question/answer session with a tutor. (Your second attempt must be done before you register for classes.)

  6. After you complete the question/answer session you will be given a referral to take to the Assessment Center for your second attempt.
