Starting the WebCT Semester Right!

Here are just a few reminders that will make your session start up stress free.

  • If you plan on using WebCT next semester, please notify your department’s administrative assistant so he or she can update your course listing and meeting type to WebCT. If you do not do this, your WebCT course will not be created and your students will not be added to your course. Please log into WebCT and check your summer WebCT course listing before the session begins. This will eliminate any emergencies and ensure a smooth session transition.
  • If your course does not appear in your course listing, please ask your administrative assistant to update your course type to WebCT. The course should then show up 24 hours after it is updated in the system.
  • If you need training, please schedule a session with a designer. The instructional designers are on each Valencia campus at least once a week. There is an instructional designer available for immediate remote assistence on West Campus every day of the week, this is where we are based. To schedule an appointment, just call 407-582-5600 or email us: webcthelp@valenciacc.edu.  

  • Your students will automatically be added to your course a few days before classes start. If you decide to use WebCT in the middle of the session, please give us 48 hours to add your students. If a student or instructor changes their PIN in Atlas, it will also change in WebCT.

  • You will notice that when your courses were created, we used a standard template.  Some faculty members reuse their WebCT courses from session to session. There is a link to the instructions for moving your course to the new session at the bottom of this page.  

  • This Learning Technology website will provide documentation for faculty as well as students on WebCT, instructional design and distance learning.

At the end of the class, your students will have the opportunity to evaluate your course.

  • To use this tool, simply send your students to Atlas. The survey is set up for each student to take only once. Your course will automatically be set up for the student to evaluate.
