Student Services Office Peer Education
Peer Educators are current students who are dedicated to learning
and wellness.
Peer Educators go through a minimum of 20 hours of training to become
certified by the BACCHUS & GAMMA Peer Education Network and
are part of Valencia's Student Leadership Program.
Peers Educators assist students on a daily basis by helping them
better understand the LifeMap philosophy and the importance of being
educated about: Alcohol; AIDS/HIV/STD's; Sexual Responsibility;
Sexual Assault; and other safety issues. They also assist in the
development and organization of theme weeks. If you are interested
in becoming a Peer Educator for the next academic year, applications
and recruitment will begin in the Spring term. Please check for
detail information on the East Wind newsletter developed by Student
Development or contact Edward
Holmes.
