Academic Success Center

Located on the first floor of Building 4 on the East Campus.

            The Academic Success Center (ASC) houses many of the learning support programs on campus and has become the learning hub of the campus as it serves the learning needs of students, faculty, and staff.  All the services listed below are available to current Valencia students at no charge with a current Valencia ID.  We are dedicated to assisting students!

Service Desk (407) 582-2704

  • The Service Desk provides learning materials, including calculators, videos, DVDs, books, and other library and individualized learning support.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lab (407) 582-2098

  • The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lab (Rm. 4-105) is used by EAP classes for pronunciation practice, lab work, and other class activities.  Open lab time is also available for additional student practice for EAP students.

Foreign Language Lab (407) 582-2098

  • The Language Lab (Rm. 4-104) is used by foreign language classes for pronunciation practice and review.  Open lab time is also available for additional student practice for students taking a foreign language.

Math Support Center (407) 582-2775

  • The Math Center is specific to either college level or prep math skills. Students at Valencia can receive help for all levels of math within the Math Center.
    • The Specialized Preparatory Area (SPA) (Rm. 4-102) assists students with developmental math skills leading up to the college level. SPA tutors help students with developmental math coursework and preparing for their prep competency exam by utilizing a variety of resources such as hands-on manipulatives, various technologies, and topic-based workshops. 
    • The Math Support Center (MSC) assists students with college-level math skills.  MSC tutors provide college level support for all students including help with the CLAST, test corrections, and CPT review assistance.

Student Computer Center (407) 582-2430

  • The Student Computer Center has over 100 computers for student use on everything from completing a paper to checking email to editing a speech video.  Although not all software is available on all computers, the SCC has a wide variety of computer services available, including individual assistance.

Testing Center (407) 582-2704

  • The Testing Center (Rm. 4-122) is the place for all manner of testing, including make-up tests, testing for students who need accommodations, state exams, and CPT testing on Saturdays. EXAMS ARE GIVEN OUT 1 HOUR PRIOR TO CLOSING. PLEASE CHECK THIS CALENDAR LINK FOR HOURS.

Tutoring Center (407) 582-2539

  • The Tutoring Center is the central place for most other tutoring support, including sciences, business, foreign language, and computer science.  Appointments are made for one-on-one or group tutoring.

Writing Center Hours (407) 582-2795

  • The Writing Center (Rm. 4-120) provides writing support for all disciplines.  Assistance in writing papers from brainstorming to formatting to final edits is available.  Software for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) lab work and for many reading and writing issues is also housed here.  Speech classes can utilize the speech recording equipment, and reviews for the reading and sentence skills portions of the CPT are completed here as well.
