Academic Forum Event

This initiative is designed to expose our learning community to unique commentary and research perspectives through specialized lectures and question-answer sessions.

The West Campus Social Sciences Department is honored to offer a special presentation on   "We Already Live in the 21st Century: Technology, Globalization, and Sports" by the acclaimed diplomatic historian Walter LaFeber of Cornell University.  The event is planned for:

Professor LaFeber, Noll Professor of History at Cornell, holds his M.A. from Stanford and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  His books include The American Age:  U.S. Foreign Policy at Home and Abroad Since 1750; Inevitable Revolutions: The United States in Central America; America, Russia and the Cold War, 1945-1996, now in its eighth edition; and The Clash: U.S.- Japanese Relations Throughout History (a Bancroft Prize winner).  Dr. LaFeber was the recipient of the first Clark Award for undergraduate teaching at Cornell.
