Holiday Hiring Guidelines - Due to the large number of holidays during the months of November and December, we do not normally have new employees begin work during this period. After that date, recruitment activities may be conducted through the Human Resources department and offers of employment may be extended, however, newly hired employees may not begin work until January 4, 2010.
Along with the holiday hiring guidelines please keep in mind this hiring reminder for supervisors and managers:

Outlook Tip-of-the-Week: Templates
Tired of typing/writing the same message over and over, or maybe you go to your sent items, search for the sent item, and copy and paste that previously sent item? Then, as soon you hit SEND, you realize that you forgot to change a name or a date?! Creating and using templates can prevent this; you can have an arsenal of templates at your disposal.
To create a template:
- Open a new e-mail
- Enter the subject and your text in the message body*
- Do not enter a recipient at this time
Click the Office button (upper left) and select Save As from the menu
- When the Save As box opens up at the bottom you have an option to “Save as type:” – using the down arrow to the right select “Outlook Template (*.oft)
- In the File Name field provide a name that defines the purpose of the template
Since templates are designed to be tailored to specific needs but the recipient, dates and topic might change. Here is an example of creating a template in a format that readily shows what fields need to be updated:
Hello [nameofrecipient],
On [mmddyy] you should have received a notification regarding [topichere] . . . . .
[Add your signature here]
The field names above have been run together so spell checker will catch them, reminding you the information needs to be changed.
For more tips and FAQs please click on the OIT Tools icon on your desktop and select “Ask a Question.”
