This is a short-term program that can be completed in one year or less. It is designed to equip you with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or job advancement. All of the certificate courses are also included in the related A.S. degree program so it can be used as a building block toward completing the degree -- which will help improve your earning potential.

Building Construction Specialist (18 credits)
Program Description:
Construction is one of the fastest-growing professional fields
in Central Florida, and an A.S. degree in Building Construction
Technology from Valencia can get you into the game. This program
will give you the skills to work with the best architects,
engineers, contractors and building officials in the business.
Typical Tasks may include:
studying building plans
estimating materials, labor and equipment
overseeing the work of employees, developing budgets, monitoring expenditures
obtaining necessary building permits and licenses

Enjoy working outdoors and independently
Ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot
Able to manage several projects and deadlines at any one time
Possess good mathematic skills
