Payroll Realignment

HR NOTES For Support Staff, Supervisors & Managers

 

 

The payroll realignment issue has been a hot topic during this past year.  The issue facing us was a possible adjustment to the pay calendar schedule because the pay dates in the 2005-2006 fiscal year fell in such way that it created 27 pay dates rather than the normal 26.  Please review the payroll realignment document at http://www.valenciacc.edu/hr/payrollchange.asp for a more detailed description of the issue.  As we discussed last year, we needed to develop a solution that would prevent this situation from happening in the future.

 

A representative committee was formed to study the issue and develop a plan for future years.  This plan was presented to the executive council and approved.  It was decided that the college will continue to process payroll on a bi-weekly basis.  While there are some technical changes required to prevent the situation we faced last year, you will continue to receive your paycheck every other Friday.
